Chapter 1

Getting started

Create your account, find your way around and start your first chat.

Sign in or create an account

You use one account on all your phones, PCs and the web. Your chats are the same everywhere.

12345
  1. 1Type your email, phone number, private number or @username.
  2. 2Type your password.
  3. 3Tap Sign in.
  4. 4New here? Tap Create account (see below).
  5. 5Try demo opens a practice account that stays only on this device — nothing is sent to anyone.
💡

Already signed in on your phone? Tap Sign in with QR code on the new device and scan it with your phone (see Sign in with a QR code).

Forgot your password? Tap Forgot password? and follow the email you receive.

Every account gets a random private number. Share it instead of your phone number to stay anonymous.

  3. 3Edge lighting over other apps — screen lights also show while you use other apps.
  4. 4Phone notification settings — lock-screen, channels and full-screen calls.
💡

Android shows a small “Ready for messages and calls” notification to keep the connection. You can collapse it in the phone’s notification settings.

On iPhone and in a web browser, notifications arrive while Sender Extreme is open.

Block someone: open the chat → ⋮ → Block user.

Devices & sessions

Settings → Devices & sessions shows every phone, PC and browser signed in to your account.

12345
  1. 1Add device (scan QR) — on the new device choose Sign in with QR code, then scan the code with this phone. Or simply sign in there with your e-mail or phone number and password.
  2. 2This device — the one you are holding.
  3. 3Other sessions — tick the ones you want to sign out (or Tick all).
  4. 4Terminate selected signs out only the ticked devices.
  5. 5Terminate all other sessions signs out everything except this device.

Terminate old sessions automatically

1
  1. 1Under Terminate old sessions automatically, choose 1 week, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year. A device that has not used your account for that long is signed out by itself. Never keeps them.

Report a person or a message

If someone sends spam, scams, threats or anything else that breaks the rules, report it. The Sender Extreme team checks every report.

12345
  1. 1The message you are reporting. Press and hold it (right-click on PC) → Report. To report a person instead: open their profile → ••• → Report.
  2. 2Choose why you are reporting: spam, scam, harassment, violence, sexual content, child safety, illegal goods, a fake account, or something else.
  3. 3Add a note if it helps (needed for “Something else”).
  4. 4Also block them, so they can no longer message or call you. It is ticked for you.
  5. 5Tap Send report.
💡

The person is not told who reported them.

A report includes the reported message and up to 5 messages before it. In a secret chat your phone shares that text, because the server cannot read it.

The team may warn the account, suspend it for 7 days or ban it.

Delete my account

123
  1. 1Go to Settings → Delete my account (near the bottom).
  2. 2Read what will be deleted, type your password and tick I understand.
  3. 3Tap Delete my account. Your account is locked at once and you are signed out on every device.
💡

It is deleted for good after 7 days. Sign in again before then and choose Keep my account if you change your mind.

Messages you sent to other people stay in their chats as “Deleted account”.

Can't sign in? E-mail the creator from your account's e-mail address.

Sign in with a QR code

  1. 1On the new device (a PC, a browser or another phone), open Sender Extreme and tap Sign in with QR code.
  2. 2On your phone (already signed in) go to Settings → Devices & sessions → Add device (scan QR) and point the camera at the code.
  3. 3Check the device name and tap Yes, sign it in. The new device opens your chats.
💡

Only scan a code shown on your own device, in front of you. Never scan a code someone sent you — they would get into your account.

The code changes every 2½ minutes and works only once. QR sign-in needs an account with an e-mail address.

Set up the app lock

123
  1. 1Type a PIN, then type it again.
  2. 2Choose 4 or 6 digits.
  3. 3Also unlock with fingerprint (or face).

  1. 1Lock now (or tap the lock at the top of your chats).
  2. 2Unlock with fingerprint.
  3. 3Auto-lock when away — immediately, after 1, 5 or 15 minutes, or 1 hour.
  4. 4Lock when the screen turns off.

  6. 6Change PIN. Below it you can turn the lock off.
💡

While the lock is on, notifications only say “New message”.

Auto open & sign out

Settings → Auto open & sign out → Add a schedule. Choose when Sender Extreme opens by itself and when it signs out of this device.

12345
  1. 1What should happen: Open the app, Sign out of this device, or Both.
  2. 2The time — with Both, the time to open and the time to sign out.
  3. 3Repeat: once, every day, chosen days of the week, every month or every year.
  4. 4For chosen days, tap the days.
  5. 5The date (for once, every month and every year), or the first day.
💡

Scroll down and tap Save. The next time is shown above the button.

Each schedule is for this phone or computer only.

Android: allow Alarms & reminders and Display over other apps on the same page, so it runs on time and the app can open by itself while it is closed.

Windows: it works while Sender Extreme runs, also in the tray. Web and iPhone: only while the app is open.

Before it happens

15 seconds before, a countdown appears with a warning sound and a screen flash — and a second warning at 5 seconds:

1234
  1. 1The seconds left.
  2. 2Cancel — skip this time (a repeating schedule goes on next time).
  3. 3Reschedule — move this time to a new time.
  4. 4Sign out now (or OK for auto-open).
💡

If you do nothing, it happens automatically. When the app is closed, the countdown shows as a notification with Cancel and Reschedule.

Unlock

12
  1. 1Type your PIN, or use your fingerprint.
  2. 2Forgot PIN? — sign out to remove the lock, then sign in again with your email and password. Your chats are safe on the server; only secret chats on this device are lost.
